Homeschooling my learner in Grades 1 to 3
Assessments in Grades 1 to 3
Grade 1 to 3 learners do not yet write tests or exams, but they have formal assessment tasks that must be completed. You (as the parent/guardian) or a tutor can assess your learner's progress. Remember that you have until 28 February of the following academic year to
capture all marks for learners in Grades R to 9. While it is not necessary for you to submit any assessments to Impaq, it is important that you keep a portfolio of your learner's work for at least 3 years. Are you new to Impaq?

Registering with the Department of Basic Education
In South Africa, learners of compulsory school-going age (Grades 1 to 9 OR 7 to 15 years of age) must be registered for homeschooling. Legislation changes from time to time, and Grade R may become compulsory. Kindly liaise with your Provincial Department of Education around Grade R registration.

Is jy nuut by Impaq?
