How can I reduce the file size for online uploads?

Reduce file size for online uploads with these tips:

  1. Scan only what is necessary (the barcoded cover page and the completed answer sheet). Do not scan in the question paper.
  2. Adjust your scanner settings: scan in greyscale and set the scanner to 300 DPI (dots per inch). A higher DPI will increase the file size significantly.
  3. If you are using a smartphone application to scan (not recommended), make sure to adjust the app’s settings prior to scanning a learner’s cover page and answer sheet: set the app to scan in greyscale and reduce the file size when exporting it to your computer/laptop.

Please refer to the detailed instructions for reducing file size when making use of the CamScanner smartphone app available on the Optimi Learning Portal under Resources > (Academic Year) > Test and Exams
