What is the test and exam process for Online School learners with Accommodations and Concessions?

Extra-time concessions

  1. Standard rules for tests and examinations apply.
  2. Extra time is granted through an approved AQC concession.
  3. For extra-time concessions only, the Online School accommodates the additional time. The learner follows the official timetable, with invigilation taking place via MS Teams and The Invigilator App.

Reader and/or scribe concessions

  1. If the learner has an approved concession for a reader and/or scribe, a SACAI-certified invigilator must supervise the entire test or examination in person, including any extra time.
  2. The invigilator is responsible for overseeing the session, ensuring that all requirements are met and recording the end time on the cover page.
  3. An approved reader and/or scribe must be a different person from the invigilator.
  4. The client is responsible for the cost of reader, scribe and invigilator services, as these are not provided by the Online School.
  5. The Invigilator App may be used alongside an in-person invigilator.

Concession assessments are completed and submitted once the full concession time has elapsed.

All assessment submissions must be accompanied by the approved concession documentation.

Where The Invigilator App was used, the approved concession documentation will be used for consideration for any irregularities flagged by the app.
